Since the picture I added of Renee and Zoe is the one on the webpage, I thought I should add a different one for you to see.

The weather outside is frightful, inside it is all delightful…let it NOT keep snowing!  It was fun for the first day, but it is now time for it to go and the water lines to unfreeze! The horses are enjoying the snow in the paddocks that are safe for turn out, and the rest and having nice romps around the arenas. Everything looks so pretty, especially the dark green trees with the snow on top of the branches.  Everytime I look at our website, however, I want to go to the beach!  Certain barn clients are getting beach rides for Christmas from their families, but I think they may want to wait until the weather gets a LITTLE nicer before booking their beach ride day!

Thanks to Fiona for sending me the great picture of Claire and Vivaldi. I am going to try to post it here so we can all enjoy it. Claire certainly looks like she is enjoying herself in the picture.  Valdi too!  What a great team they have turned out to be.

Do you have news or pictures to post?? Send them to me and I will publish them in the blog!

More Barn Blog..

December 15th, 2008

Well, I am a bad bad blogger, I have not done it for nearly a month!

In Chelsea’s note she seems to be under the impression that someone ELSE is going to be organizing the next schooling show……ha ha ha ha.

That is what happens when you do a good job, everyone just wants you to do it again! Thanks to everyone who helped out, the jumps looked great and the judge Chelsea Wilson, said that everyone did very well.

As for the show, it was great to see everyone having fun and nice of Chelan Kozak and her crew to come all the way out to jump around. What amazing horses they have…good luck on your way to WEG and the big O!

During the show, Megan helped me make a blooper video for her mom back in Switzerland. I especially liked the bridle removing technique.  Megan’s last day at the barn is this Monday, so she gets to ride…..ANTON!

Last night was the Barn Christmas Party and the sleepover for the girls as Megan’s going away party.  The girls went out in the middle of the night and enjoyed the snow, and let the horses have some fun too, especially GES, who loves to roll in snow.

Congratualions to everyone who has finished school for the semester (me too!) and to Dominique on her new and very rewarding job working with youth in Vancouver.

Clinic

Lots was learned at the Lindy Townley clinic, but the clinic with BIrthe Schuman McKeon was cancelled due to weather conditions.  We will reschedule right after Christmas, and the new year will bring some other clinics as well.  We will be having a horse massage clinic at the end of January, so watch for the posters.

Christmas

Be sure to keep an eye out for Christmas gifts from Santa appearing at your stall door.  I believe he is dropping by on Monday with some helpful Christmas supplies.  Need an idea for a Christmas gift?  Buy a gift certificate for someone else and get a free lesson for yourself! Or, how about a gift certificate for a trip to the beach….when the snow and rain are gone, of course!

Odette will be home at Christmas, so I am sure Viva will get lots of carrots over the holidays.

Well, I had better stop blogging and get wrapping!  Christmas is coming!

Barn Blog November 18, 2008

November 18th, 2008

Well, welcome everyone to our new Barn Blog for news and events!

This Barn Blog will contain all the barn news and any news that you forward to me to include.

Website:  If you want your pictures on our website, please email them to us and we will pick some to put on the website.  Also, for updates to be sent right to you, please give us your email!

Show: Our next Schooling Show is Nov. 30 with Christmas theme. Chelsea Johnston, Deanna and their elves will be decorating the jumps with candy cane stripes and Christmas trees.  We will be handing out free wrapping paper and Christmas cards too!  There are prizes for all placings and a choice of prize for first place too. Classes include the regular flat, hunter over fences, and equitation classes, as well as a jumping ride a fiver, regular ride a fiver, a puissance, and other games.  Check out the great food that Shiralee is going to be cooking up too.

Clinics: Birthe Schuman McKeon was just here, and LIndy Towlney will be coming soon to do an Equitation clinic.  Shannon will also be doing a massage clinic and pizza night.

New Arrivals: Noah, a Westphalian cross Eventer arrived from Calgary last night, so welcome to Dominique and Noah.  We also have a new lesson horse, who is very very sweet. His name is Likely, and thanks to Michelle for thinking of Crescent when her horse needed a new home and a new job!

Congratulations:  Congrats to all the girls for doing so well this summer. Ges won a Championship at Twin Oaks against 40 people, not too bad for a Dressage horse.  Maxine also scooped up many Championships over the summer and will have to attend the year end BCHJA Banquet to take home her winnings. Perhaps they might have some video of Deanna at the Banquet as well….airs above and into the ground!  Let me know your results and I will post them too.

Contratulations to Shannon and Troy on the purchase of their first house.  The barn girls want to do a sleep over, ok with you?

We should also say congrats and well done to all the coaches that completed their certification this summer, so well done to Debbie, Shannon, Thea, and Clara.

Barn Construction: As  you have noticed, in addition to the three nice new paddocks, we have four more with new footing and drainage, and new drainage on that part of the track. Thanks Dave and Ella!  We also have water where we want it, and the water feature fountain in Shed Row B that we did not want, turned off!  That means the wash rack by Main Barn is now operational again too.  The new footing in the indoor is getting a good workout now that the rainy season is here, and the first load of hog is in the outdoor. The weather is so nice I am sure we will be making use of it.

Barn Staffing:  Chelsea Johnston and Julia Clarke are now the Weekend Managers, on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Well, see you soon!

Sue.
